Is India ready to crush Terrorism?

It has become a part of India's daily life, to get news about blasts & deaths of innocent citizens. I wonder where would it finally end? Would its result be another partition of India or would it result into another long chain of slavery for us? some of the people may not agree with my views because probably they are under the influence of false dialogues like 'we shall not bow ourselves in front of terrorism', 'we would fight and crush terrorism', 'Terrorists would never be successful in their objectives', ' India's communal harmony would be intact' ....... and all similar statements that we get to hear from our so called leaders.

I agree that such statements help in controlling the emotions of the people and also in sending a message to them that the government is aware of the situation and it is taking some steps to crush the terrorists. But, we must also honestly accept the fact that the government does not seem to be seriousely doing something, beyond just putting forth the same statements and paying some compensatory amount to the family members of the innocent citizens who are victims of the blasts. How can we hope that all these steps would stop the terrorist activities?

It is an irony that a player who shoots bullets and wins a Gold in Olympic games is given a prize of Rs.1,00,00,000/- while an officer who shoots bullets to kill terrorists and dies in that struggle is given a compensation of Rs.5,00,000/- only!! Can we say such discrimination would increase the morale of the armed forces? I am not against honouring our players, but, at this hour, when the country is under a great threat from terrorism, our first and foremost focus must be towards the officers and jawans serving in our forces. Instead, we seem to be continuousely ignoring them on all fronts. The media always keeps questioning the methods of investigations and the motives of the police and other forces. Some of the 5-star activists go to the 'Human Rights Commission' against the killing of some terrorists or Anti-Indian elements. But, I have not even once heard a news of some activists going to the 'Human Rights Commission' to protest against the terrorists who kill innocent people and take away their Basic Human Right, which is the Right to live. Is it good for the country?

On December 13, 2003 Our Parliament was attacked by a group of terrorists. Our brave security personnel fought with them and all of the attackers were killed. Some of our brave soldiers gave their life to save the so-called leaders of the country. Later, the investigation agencies worked hard and found all the clues of this attack and arrested the master-mind who was behind this incident. He was presented in front of the judiciary and even the Supreme court has sentenced him to be hanged. But, he is still alive. The family members of the soldiers who died on Dec.13,2003, have protested aginst this. They have even returned the medals to the president of India, but, Afzal is still alive. Are we going to crush terrorism in this way?

All these questions must be asked to ourselves by each of us. If the point of view of our leaders towards terrorism, does not change,we can only imagine what would be the situation after some more years? what are we going to give the future generations? What would their destiny be? Shall they have the right to live peacefully? All these questions want answers from the leaders and the voters who have given the future of the country in the hands of such leadership.
